Where to go on Halloween

Who doesn't love those oh-so-spooky haunted houses that pop up in October? Even though Halloween has come and gone, the OSPC has a few recommendations for next year!

Lester Hospital (Lester, AL)
Don't go if you don't want to be grabbed by the actors.
Arx Mortis, formerly Graystone Manor (Killen, AL)
Our favorite in North Alabama! If you're looking for something close to home but still want a good scare, check this one out.
Disturbia (Huntsville, AL)
If actors aren't your style, then maybe the animatronics at Disturbia may be just what you're looking for.
Sloss Furnace (Birmingham, AL)
Sure, it's a bit of a drive, but this was by far the best haunted house we visited this season. Don't let the price tag intimidate you; Sloss Furnace definitely delivers.

A little bit about each of us

Whitney Traylor is twenty years old and attends the University of North Alabama where she is majoring in English. She is currently dating fellow OSPC member Joseph Bryant. While not spending time reading and studying for one of her many, MANY lit classes or acting as main chauffeur for the OSPC, Whitney can be found playing with the cutest "member" of the group, her dog Maggie.

Chad Dean is nineteen years old. He is attending Calhoun Community College where he is majoring in history with a minor in theatre. Chad knows the word around town and always has the latest gossip. Chad is the witty, tell-it-like-it-is glue that holds the group together. Chad can usually be found browsing Facebook while jamming out to Lady Gaga.

Joseph Bryant, also nineteen, attends the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he is pursuing a biochemistry major. Joseph is the level-headed member of the group, and his vast amount of knowledge never fails to impress (or keep us out of sticky situations, for that matter). When he's not studying or spending time with Whitney, he can usually be found playing video games or browsing the Internet.

Reed Dudley is the youngest member of the group at seventeen. Currently attending LCHS, Reed hopes to attend Auburn University in the fall with a planned major in theatre or communications. Reed serves at the group's chief photographer and doesn't go anywhere without her camera! When not at play practice, Reed can usually be found stalking people on Facebook, sleeping, or reading anything from Gone with the Wind to Harry Potter.

Maggie is one year old, and she is the official mascot of the OSPC. Whitney adopted Maggie as a puppy, and she's been on several adventures since. Definitely the most charming member of the group, Maggie keeps the group cute.
